"You have unleashed a terrible beast of Darkness upon us!
Flee, fair Light!"

The Light has awoken a terrible Darkness... Play as a monster with a bloodlust for brilliance and catch the Light in this 1-bit arcade style game!

The Light will attempt to flee from you through a labyrinthine set of winding paths and use every tool at its disposal to flee from you, slyly stopping you in your tracks as it too navigates this strange maze it now finds itself in. Capture the Light in your deadly claws, lest it escape from you!

Originally conceived as a game idea for GMTK Game Jam 2023 Roles Reversed, "Flee, Fair Light!" was created in one week for the Light & Dark themed "1-BIT JAM".

I really like the visuals, and how it feels like a curved screen. However there's not really a death state, so you get bored after a while since there's no real objective other than to catch the light. The light self is very nice, but it gets confused sometimes in the beginning and you can kill it off very easily and quickly. For the first few minutes, I was confused of what I needed to do, so I kept going down the maze, until I reread the instructions. Otherwise, this is a pretty nice game, I like the visuals, great job.

Thank you for your feedback! This was actually my first game jam I’ve made a game for, so I appreciate the constructive criticism. Thanks for playing, I’m glad you enjoyed it overall :)
